When to Seek Crisis Intervention

C-Line’s crisis services are appropriate for anyone experiencing:

Thoughts of self-harm or hopelessness
Panic attacks or overwhelming anxiety
Emotional breakdowns or loss of control
Trauma response after a distressing event
Intense anger, fear, or grief
Sudden behavioral or mood changes
Substance use relapse or high-risk situations

If you or someone you care about is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. C-Line’s crisis team can provide follow-up stabilization and connection to continued care once immediate safety is secured.

Our Crisis Intervention Process

C-Line’s crisis response model is designed to move individuals from chaos to calm through a structured, supportive approach.

Step 1: Rapid Response and Assessment
A licensed clinician conducts a quick yet comprehensive assessment to evaluate immediate safety risks, emotional distress, and situational triggers.
Step 2: Stabilization
Clients receive emotional support, grounding exercises, and coping tools to regain control. Our team ensures a safe environment where clients can process what’s happening without judgment.
Step 3: Short-Term Planning
We help clients develop a brief safety and action plan, including identifying supportive contacts, coping techniques, and follow-up steps.
Step 4: Connection to Ongoing Care
After stabilization, clients are connected to appropriate services such as Individual Counseling, Family Therapy, or Group Support. Our Admissions team ensures a seamless transition into continued treatment.

C-Line offers both in-person crisis sessions at our Jersey City and Paterson offices and telehealth options for those unable to travel. Evening appointments are also available to make crisis care as accessible as possible.
